Looking for a fun game to play with a group of people at a care home or family gathering? Try this twist on bingo using playing cards!
What you'll need:
2 sets of playing cards (1 large-print or large, and 1 giant)
A small prize (optional)
The activity:
Deal out the smaller set of cards to the group. Each person can either hold their cards in their hand or place them in front of them.
Explain the rules: "I will call out one card at a time. If you have that card, let me know and I will take it. The winner is the first person to get rid of all their cards."
Shuffle the extra large set of cards, then draw the first one. Repeat the name of the card a few times and show it to each person in the room, making sure everyone can see and hear it clearly.
If someone has the card you've called, take it from them and remind them that they're making progress.
Repeat the game if time permits.
If you have a small prize, give it to the winner.
Top tip:
If you have fewer than six players, use only two suits of cards, as each person may struggle to hold them all. Alternatively, if you have two sets of snap cards, you could play the game using Relish Animal Snap instead.
